Student Leadership
Leadership roles at Cromer Campus can be achieved by students from Year 7 right through to Year 12. Prefects and Captains have a role within the school to voice the opinions of the student body and to provide a role model for the junior students to follow and emulate within the school environment. Student leadership is important at our campus as all students require guidance in the decisions they make and as leaders we try to provide that direction.
Within the Prefects and Captains, certain roles are carried out. Our current prefects comment on their roles as follows:
Captains
A Captain’s main aim is to inspire the students of the school to achieve their personal best and to inspire them to reach their potential in a secure and enjoyable learning environment.
Vice Captains
A Vice Captain’s role requires a great deal of responsibility, effort and care to promote and uphold the highest standards of our school.
Sport Captains
The Sport Captain’s role is to provide a role model for the junior students to try and get involved in physical activity as well as fostering sporting prowess and the spirit of Cromer Campus.
Prefects
“"We felt compelled to take up the opportunity to engage in a leadership role while representing our peers and allowing Cromer Campus to be an ideal learning environment. It is the right of all students to benefit from their education and our job is to ensure that school is a time of their life that they will always remember and enjoy."
Another senior prefect states “We create a link between the students and administration to increase the flow of information that is relevant to the operation of the school.”
All the Prefects and Captains hope to inspire and educate others through their roles within the school and also to serve as role models while achieving the life skills needed to live a productive and full life.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
The SRC's main purpose is to communicate the wants and needs of the student population to the school management team and parent groups.
Recently the SRC ran several events including The Battle of the Bands, which was very successful, A Trivia Challenge between the groups and a Guessing competition is occasionally also run by the Year 7s of the SRC.
Fund raising for the school frequently occurs and raised money goes towards the many school projects that are in operation. The SRC supports several charities including Jeans for Genes and Stuart House.
